English Mahogany and brass laptop desk c1800
English Mahogany and brass lap top desk c1800. We were told by the estate that this antique laptop desk had belonged to Lord Pentland. It is without a doubt the best laptop desk we have had. The box is made from the finest matching mahogany with inset brass braces all around its sides, middle, and top. The desk opens to a tapered, hand tooled leather writing surface. Inside there are compartments for pens, pencils, and an ink well. When we removed the tray, we suspected that the box had a secret compartment. After several hours, we located a tiny slot that, when a pen knife is inserted into it, releases a solid mahogany board concealing three fine small drawers just underneath the inkwell and pencil holder. It is nearly impossible to detect. The box is in excellent condition with original key. Measures 16 inches wide by 10 inches deep and 6 inches high. Opens to 20 inches.

Victorian English papier mache box painted with floral and bird decoration. Beautiful etched brass hardware. This box measures 6 and three quarter inches by 4 inches by 3 and three quarter inches high. All original, c1860.

French bread baguette box c1870
French bread or baguette box. 1870 Tapered pine box with hinged top. Measures 28 inches high in front, 31 and one half inches high in back, 10 and one half inches wide, and 9 inches deep.

Early New England walnut knife box c1800. This knife box, or country kitchen untencil holder, has lovely large hand cut dovetails on all sides. Excellent condition. Measures 16 and one half inches long by 9 and one half inches wide by 7 inches high.

Early country French walnut wall pipe box c1800
Early country French walnut wall pipe box c1800. This pipe rack or box has a dish carved face that lifts up to reveal the inside which originally held clay pipes. Measures 15 and one half inches high by seven inches wide and three and one half inches deep. Excellent deep carving detail. Dates to the first quarter of the 19th century.
